Memorabilia is an object that is treasured for its memories. However, unlike souvenirs, memorabilia are valued for a connection to a historical event, culture or entertainment. The term sports memorabilia in particular usually refers to a souvenir, memento, keepsake or token of remembrance that is directly connected to a famous athlete, sporting event or personality.
